I went to see the new Michael Moore film, Fahrenheit 9/11, at the 12:01am showing at the Grand Cinema. I usually watch his movies sitting back a little, understanding that he makes movies for a living, and is trying to make people want to see his films.
This movie left me a bit upset, which it was supposed to do. I knew most of the information presented in the film, but I guess seeing it condensed into such a short period of time it left me in a hateful mood.
I have said this before, but I didn't feel anything for the people who were killed in the world trade center. I feel that we live off the backs of the rest of the world, and we deserve just about everything that we get. Granted killing underlings doesn't really solve anything. You have to go after the big people. If we really want to change our country we have to assassinate at least the top 500 people. I don't necessarily mean that all the politicians need to be killed, but the people that have the money, the people who actually control our government.
I do feel for the people that our country is bombing in our name. There is no just moral cause for us to be in Iraq, and causing these people harm. They may not have had a perfect life under Sadam, but at least they had an existence and made life work. Now what do they have?
I will be honest, and say that I do hate most of Americans, and I hate my government. I can't say that I hate my country, because it is just a place and location that I live. I am cynical, and I believe that peaceful protest will not get the government to change. I think that there will be another group like the Weathermen Underground, but this time it won't be a bunch of half hearted rich white kids. If things get much worse I believe that there will be a series of consecutive events that are perpetrated by individuals to support a common cause and goal. There will be no communication; there will be no group or network. It will be citizens fed up with the government.
I wish we could reveal to the sheep of this country what they are letting occur.... but alas, Americans would rather be fat, dumb, and happy.
Excellent post. I had no idea that you were a radical and revolutionary. I can't say that I agree with everything that you expressed, but I do understand and agree from where you are coming.

Americans suck. There is much to hate about us. The world sucks. There is much to hate about it. (Un)fortunately the fact is that America as a country sucks a lot less than just about every other country you could care to mention. And it sucks light-years less than the shit-hole countries that spawned the murdering terrorists who perpetrated 9/11 on unsuspecting, innocent people.
If you can read this post and not feel anything, well... well... I don't know what to say:
He started to tell me that he had a nightmare that she had jumped. She was standing in the window, in her little pantsuit and pumps, looking down. It was flames or freefall. Then he was there, beside her, and he was asking her to try and get out, then she fell suddenly, into the vast blue nothingness with a loud scream. When he woke up he was sick. He hadn't had a nightmare in a long time, nearly a year. I told him it was okay. He said that he was afraid that she was in pain when she died. That she was burned or crushed or .... jumped. I told him that she wasn't in pain. It was fast, it was very fast, I say - because what else can I say? I start to cry. I don't know that his wife didn't die a horrible painful death - and neither does he.Posted by: Howard Hansen at June 30, 2004 06:51 PM
i saw farenheit 9/11, and took a friend. i was totally angry with the movie, and even more determined to voice my anger and frustration with the current administration.
my saddest moment was asking my friend what he thought.
he said, "i want to be rich when i get older. but i don't want to be a 'have, and have more' person. i deserve to be rich and have everything that is coming to me."
that we could leave that movie and have him only think about himself, blows me away.

Your site and your phtography are amazing. I would like to join your photoclub...as soon as I have some extra money to do that!
I enjoyed reading you posts too but feel saddened that you "didn't feel anything for the people who were killed in the world trade center." While it is true and I agree to some extent that Americans do "live off the backs of the rest of the world" there are many people that live off us as well. And all of that aside it is always sad when tragedy occurs and people die. Innocently or at the hand of war. Death is death; an in my opinion death is sad.
If we really were to "assassinate at least the top 500 people.. [not] necessarily mean that all the politicians need to be killed, but the people that have the money, the people who actually control our government," then who would you put in charge?
I am not trying to be argumentative or say your opinions are wrong - who the hell am I to say that? I am just curious as to the underlying thoughts beneath what you are saying.
I am hoping to see Moore's film soon, as soon as some of the crowds die down.
