We've been frequenting Cold Stone Creamery. Their ice cream is a very good, and I was excited when I found them. They reminded me of a shop located in Dallas called Marble Slab. I would often head there to get ice cream for the crew when I worked at the record store. It was always nice for me because someone would buy me ice cream for picking it all up. Nice trade for me... get paid, and free ice cream. While looking up Marble Slab I found out they now have a location in Redmond. I'm going to have to go over there, and see how my memory of their ice cream compares to the actual thing.

I get a packet of coupons ever month from Val-Pak. They feature all sorts of coupons from lawn care to free food. Well, this month they had a buy one get one free coupon for Cold Stone. Today, was a lovely warm day that put ice cream into my head. Tonight, John and I went down to redeem the coupon some free ice-cream. We waited in the huge line of this so called "trendy establishment," gathered our ice cream, and sat down outside to eat.

After sitting for awhile we heard a loud boistrous family coming down the sidewalk.

"What's their problem?" John asked.
"I don't know, I think they are just being silly." I couldn't quite make out what was going on. The kid was a bit upset, and said something about wanting to eat.
Next thing I hear:
"S'cuse would you like to buy..... " I couldn't make out what the boy was saying.
His Dad chimes in " We are selling candy bars, this is the last one of the night we need to sell. We've got three left. Would you like to buy one?"

"No, thank you. I'm diabetic." I replied as I shoveled another bite of ice cream into my face. I kept thinking if only the candy was a Snicker's or Heath bar I would've jumped, but my heart doesn't move for a 1 pound Reese's bar.

We used to go to the Marble Slab in Tampa when I was in high school until I had a rather unpleasant date with the boy that worked there. I've found them and Cold Stone to be about the same.
